We believe that if you focus just a little bit of your energy on your skating everyday for the next 30 days you’ll roll away from this challenge being a MUCH better skater. This is why we created the FREE Better in 30 Days Skate Challenge!
The absolute first step to becoming a better skater is getting consistent weekly practice. This can be at your local skatepark , your kitchen, your garage or even at the local skating rink. Check out our huge list of indoor/outdoor places to practice roller skating if you need some ideas!
Our Better in 30 Days Skate Challenge will guide you through the process of defining the skills you want to work on & build off of. In roller skating there is always a next level that builds off foundational skills.
With our skills tracker you can lay out the skate skills you want to work on and build on (in a logical progression). When you practice that skill, check it off for that day. When you’ve mastered that skill move on to the next level on the tracker. See how we progressed through some basic skating & skate park skills in the example below:
You can use our FREE printable roller skating journal to log all your personal notes about your roller skating sessions. Write down what went good and what didn’t go so well. Log total skate time & make a plan for what you’ll work on the next day. Here is what it looks like:
We’re also including a FREE printable monthly calendar to help plan out what you’ll work on over the next 30 days. Our included FREE printable “skate sesh” stickers can be used to plan your public or group skates at the local rink in advance on your calendar (you can make stickers at home with printable sticker paper).
WHAT DO I NEED TO START THE CHALLENGE?
1. Your own roller skates + Safety gear
If you don’t have a pair of roller skates we hope you’ll commit to purchasing your own pair before starting the challenge.
Our rationale is simple- rental skates are awful! Rentals provide zero ankle support & give the skater an inconsistent skating experience every time you rent. Have you ever had rentals that felt the same? Probably not.
Also, rental skates aren’t readily available for daily use like you’ll need for this challenge. Having your own COMFORTABLE & supportive skates, that you personally maintain will vastly improve your skate experience & skills. You’ll never have to worry about bad bearings, loose toe stops or wheels that don’t spin.

Don’t forget all your protective gear! Roller Skate protective gear has come along way over the past decade. You can look cute AND be safe! Check out our list of cute protective gear recommendations.
2. Your 30 day commitment
Commit to working on your skating every day (YES, everyday) for the next 30 days. Even if you can only commit 15-20 minutes a day skating around your kitchen you WILL see a marked improvement in your skating after 30 days.
