Some areas of the US are just more expensive to operate in (like California and New York) and admission prices reflect that. Rinks that are closer to major metropolitan centers are often more expensive than those in outlying areas for the same reasons.
The time of day you plan to skate can also be a factor (night skate sessions are more expensive than daytime sessions). Friday night, Saturday nights & adult night sessions are the most expensive of the entire week! If you have your own skates (or can borrow some) this can bring the admission price down by a few dollars.

How Much is Roller Skating Per Person?
On average, roller skating admission price across the entire United States comes in at $10 USD per person. This price includes skate rental. Prices across the U.S. ranged from $6-$14. Rented skates aren’t always the best. Generally speaking, they’re low quality and not properly maintained. PLEASE do not base your skating experience on rental skates! Before you contact the rink directly you’ll need to know the answers to the following questions as they will affect the price (be sure to ask about pre-set party packages):
How many skaters are in your party?
Is your event during the evening session or the daytime matinees? (daytime is usually cheaper)
Is it on the weekend or midweek? (midweek is usually cheaper)
Are you bringing in outside food (like a birthday cake) or relying on the rink’s snack bar area for food? (most snack bars have fun foods like hot dogs, pizza and ice cream but not things like birthday cake)
Will it occur during open skate public hours or do you want the whole rink to yourself? (public hours are cheaper)

The average price for private parties varied greatly by the number of guests. Smaller parties averaged around $300 and larger parties could run $1000 or more depending on the number of guests.
