Hey there! I’m Lisa and I’m the skater girl behind this entire website devoted to helping people learn how to get started in skateboarding, longboarding & roller skating. I got my first pair of skates when I was 5 years old and ever since I’ve enjoyed recreating on anything with wheels. I bring my 30+ years of first hand skating and coaching experience to boardwalkskater.com!
I’ve taken up surfing, skateboarding & longboarding along the way and I love sharing my passion of those hobbies with all of you. I also own a few other websites acountrygirlslife.com & thepaperhen.com where I focus on my other life long passions which are planning and journaling.
I’m a vegetarian & I live in Western Washington on a small hobby farm with horses, chickens & a Jack Russell terrier. Luckily I live very close to a 40 mile long paved rail to trail system (called the Centennial Trail) and a skatepark so I can get my daily fix of skating or skateboarding whenever I need to. If you frequent either place it’s possible that we’ve met or exchanged a “hang loose” in passing (that’s my signature trail wave)!
I live part time in Northern California which is my absolute, FAVORITE place in the world. It’s THE mecca for skating, skateboarding and surfing culture which are all things I live and breathe. I feel at home there with like minded, free spirited people.
I’m also a coach and I give private lessons to people of all ages who want to learn how to get started skateboarding, longboarding or roller skating. I can get you started correctly in any of these rewarding sports with 2-3 private lessons (on average).
